The following are hosting plans that I use on a regular basis and have had good customer service with. Each one has different qualities that would be beneficial for different types of businesses. Please feel free to contact me if you need help deciding.
I just picked up this host for a blog I am putting together for a client: Dot5hosting.com. So far there have been no real issues and I am liking their service.
Here is a quick synopsis of how I think they do:
- Control Panel: Average, inexperienced webmasters may find it somewhat difficult to use
- Server Speed: Average or Above
- Support: 5 minute response on the only small issue I had
- Price: $4.95/month if you pay annually – it doesn’t get too much cheaper than this.
HostGator has renouned service and pricing…I decided to give them a try with my latest e-commerce templates web store. They are also the preferred host for Build a Niche Store
and I tried to use several other hosts for BANS and could only get hostgator to work.
- Control Panel: cPanel – classic and easy
- Server Speed: Above Average – fast and responsive
- Support: Excellent, I have had a few issues and they have always been able to help me quickly
- Price: Excellent
Aplus.net is a great web host. I have most of my clients placed here. They are reasonable, have decent support and they are great for ecommerce.
Also, of note, their webmail is very stable.
- Control Panel: Custom control panel takes some getting used to.
- Server Speed: Above Average – one of the fastest on the net
- Support: Above average, they usually get back to you sooner than their advertised response time.
- Price: Excellent
I have been researching the setup of a video hosting site – this requires FFmpeg Hosting which APT host is very capable of. This is pre-installed on all of their plans.
They also offer cPanel, unlimited domains, and PHP/MySQL support. They do not support JSP or ASP.
One of my new favorites! Finally a host that that can boast going green. Their website states:
